Accessing our inner child, that magical creative essence, is the unlocking key to remembering our authentic truth and gifts. Perhaps in the past, we were not supported in exploring our “artistic” creativity. Young children embrace the inner artist, because they have yet to be cultured and lack inhibitions. As children grow older, for various cultural and societal reasons, many have learned to suppress the inner artist, especially in societies where competition and comparison are the prevailing driving actions, versus, creative expression and authentic truth. Many choose not to pursue their love or the arts because it wasn’t productive or would lead to a real career. Some of us may have believed that we were not artful. We may have experienced thoughts like, I dance funny or my voice isn’t pretty enough, or I paint like a child. This is simply untrue. The very nature of art, play, and creativity is subjectivity! There are no rights or wrongs. We are all artists. Each and every one of us. We are all very creative beings. In fact, we are consciousness manifest; a channel for creation. How could we not be that which we are?
Affirmation: I am a creative being. I am an artist. Within my being, I invite any latent creativity to come out and play.
Forgiveness statement: I forgive my teachers, parents, or friends, or anybody that may have expressed disapproval, or perhaps not encouraged that part of my being that is wildly creative. Eventhough these limiting ideas may have been imprinted into my psyche, and I feel like a beginner in the arts, I love and accept myself exactly where I am at in its perfection. I AM AN ARTIST!
The unlocking code to creativity…is being able to take a risk, or to put oneself in new situations without being attached to the outcome. And being able to risk one’s truth is beautiful. It is a divine birthright to live a human life as a unique creative expression, and it takes courage to trust in that. We all have dreams of how we want to be in the world, or what we might express or say. Even taking one step towards living that dream is an act of creativity. Our courage is part of our creativity. This activates the inner child. The inner child is not afraid of new things and not bent on outcomes of perfection. The inner child acts from a soure of JOY. Is this fun? The inner childs’ world was cultivated on new experiences and explorations of language, physical play, and emotional tests.
There are endless ways to be creative, and imagine the creativity required to raise a child or build a business! At every junction, at every decision, our creative juices are accessed to respond appropriately, and artfully.
Affirmation: I embrace new things and experiences and welcome the source of my creativity. I choose to respond in loving artful, and creative ways.
Every morning within the scope of the new day to come, we are stepping out into a world that was built from creative forces, and the opportunity to dance one’s dance, and play one’s creation into the world beckons us.
Let’s shift our perceptions an ask “How can I serve myself and the world in creative ways?”
We might just surprise ourselves over and over again!
